Post July 4 post camping drink and empanadas
So our first official trip as a family was in the great Shenandoah State Park. We love it. This time around we stayed at Big Meadows. We were treated to friendly deer at our tents, waterfall hikes, and awesome mountain weather. It was a comfortable 80 degrees during the day and got down to the 60's with a cool mountain breeze. In NoVa it was gross when we left(usual humidity), but up in the mountains it was spring again. I think we may have found our new family tradition....oh and we did see a black bear.

Summer has been flying by and the girls have both discovered reading. It is such a neat thing to see Ella get into her chapter books. I love hearing her laugh when she reads something funny. Eva is also able to sit and enjoy her picture books. It makes for very calm mornings. I love it.
