This weekend the girls and I had a great weekend. It was a beautiful fall day in Virginia. We ventured out to the pumpkin patch near the house with cousin Veia and had a great time sliding down the slides and picking out our pumpkins. I knew I wanted to do something outdoorsy with the girls on Sunday but I couldn't decide between visiting an apple orchard, hiking the Shenandoah or checking out Frying Pan Park. Ultimately, I decided to pull out Ella's bike out while Eva was sleeping and to my delight she finally discovered the joys of riding a bike. She was on it all day, it was great. We decided to talk a walk in our own backyard. We have a great park system with wonderful trails. I'm so glad I decided to not get in my car. Ella got on her Skut and I put Eva in the backpack and we walked to an open field, I pulled chocolate chip cookies and that's when Ella asked me if I wanted to daydream with her. Which meant looking at the sky and seeing shapes in the clouds. I loved it. It was one of those days where I was aware of how good I have it. The only thing that was missing was Chris.
