Summer is over. First day of 1st grade.

Every time I leave school to go home and be with the girls for summer, I gotta admit I get little nervous. The thought of entertaining and caring for them gets overwhelming, but man does time go by fast. I wish I had more time with them. Some days are hard other days are easy and pure fun. This summer Ella went to Grandma Fowler's house for a week and of course I couldn't for her to come back. She on the other hand had a blast visiting w/ gramdma and playing with her cousins. Eva made going to the pool a bit of a chore but she is fearless and was jumping into mama and dada's arm like it was nothing. We are gonna have to watch that one.
For the Labor Day Weekend we decided to try camping with close friends(Simmons and Febbraros). It was so much fun and so relaxing. I loved it. We went camping in the Shenandoah. Rented tents and everything. We had the attitude that if weather wasn't so great or if babies weren't cooperating that we could at least make a day or one night out of it and if we had to leave it was a close drive. It really was fun and can't wait to go again. We are hoping to try and catch the leaves turn in September. The only thing we didn't get to have was smore's.....BOO! Next time.
What is new...I started at the high school and things are going very well. I'm looking forward to the year. Ella has started first grade and already seems to be having some issues with talking but I hope we will nip that in the bud. This stuff always worries me because I want her to be strong and confident girl.

Eva's Milestones: Singing(more like loud humming) Twinkle
Calls Ella She-She and LaLa(my favorite)
Claps whenever Ella does a cartwheel(side-note, Ella has been practicing her cartwheels for months. I mean months. I LOVE her persistence I hope something she never loses. She's landed on her feet a few times and when she does boy is she happy)
                           Says Nigh Nigh= Good Night
Understands so much and listens like a good little girl. Has said please unprompted when she wants something and says Please which sounds like Cheese. Some words are clear others not so much, but the girls she's talking and it's cute.

How I knew

How did I know that my husband was the one for me? I sometimes have a hard time explaining this, but for me it cam down to having a sense that I was going to be alright in my life. Being with Chris gave me confidence. I cam across this quote that sums up how I knew he was the one for me.   “Someday you’ll find the right person, and you’ll learn to have a lot more confidence in yourself. That’s what I think. So don’t settle for anything less. In this world, there are things you can only do alone, and things you can only do with somebody else. It’s important to combine the two in just the right amount.” -  Haruki Murakami

Morning thoughts

I love them Spring is coming, so they say. Yesterday after school we were able to enjoy the creek and playground till it was dinner time. The joys of being able to make the day pass while being outdoors. I can't wait. This morning Eva got a little outdoor time before the rain came,  and Ella hummed along to some Neill Young. Then puzzle mania ensued. I was reading this blog, Manger  and she wrote the following: "While our kids are still small, our lives young, our dogs so splendid, our journey is just beginning!" It reminded me so much of my husband because whenever I say "Things are great."  He always chimes in that the best is still yet to come. I wonder what's to come?

Lazy Fall Days

This weekend the girls and I had a great weekend. It was a beautiful fall day in Virginia. We ventured out to the pumpkin patch near the house with cousin Veia and had a great time sliding down the slides and picking out our pumpkins. I knew I wanted to do something outdoorsy with the girls on Sunday but I couldn't decide between visiting an apple orchard, hiking the Shenandoah or checking out Frying Pan Park. Ultimately, I decided to pull out Ella's bike out while Eva was sleeping and to my delight she finally discovered the joys of riding a bike. She was on it all day, it was great. We decided to talk a walk in our own backyard. We have a great park system with wonderful trails. I'm so glad I decided to not get in my car. Ella got on her Skut and I put Eva in the backpack and we walked to an open field, I pulled chocolate chip cookies and that's when Ella asked me if I wanted to daydream with her. Which meant looking at the...
