November 9, 2010.....EVA NOELLE

Second time around was stressful. Who knew that at 38yrs old, doctors would make you take genetic testing to make sure everything is alright. If I could do it again I would not have done the testing. I'm thankful that after I received the first results that Chris and I decided to end it right there. The stress of those test were so nerve racking that it took me 5 months to enjoy the pregnancy. My gut was telling me all along to not worry but with with added information you couldn't help but think of the other possibilities.

Luckily, everything was fine and we have a beautiful girl Eva Noelle. She is now nine months and is currently crawling and pulling herself up. she is a handful. Ella has been super, but let me tell you now that this little busy body has been on the move it can be TOUGH.

However, I remind myself the laundry and dishes can wait to just take a minute and enjoy. Otherwise I might lose my mind. To tell you the truth there are plenty where I have.

How I knew

How did I know that my husband was the one for me? I sometimes have a hard time explaining this, but for me it cam down to having a sense that I was going to be alright in my life. Being with Chris gave me confidence. I cam across this quote that sums up how I knew he was the one for me.   “Someday you’ll find the right person, and you’ll learn to have a lot more confidence in yourself. That’s what I think. So don’t settle for anything less. In this world, there are things you can only do alone, and things you can only do with somebody else. It’s important to combine the two in just the right amount.” -  Haruki Murakami

Morning thoughts

I love them Spring is coming, so they say. Yesterday after school we were able to enjoy the creek and playground till it was dinner time. The joys of being able to make the day pass while being outdoors. I can't wait. This morning Eva got a little outdoor time before the rain came,  and Ella hummed along to some Neill Young. Then puzzle mania ensued. I was reading this blog, Manger  and she wrote the following: "While our kids are still small, our lives young, our dogs so splendid, our journey is just beginning!" It reminded me so much of my husband because whenever I say "Things are great."  He always chimes in that the best is still yet to come. I wonder what's to come?

Lazy Fall Days

This weekend the girls and I had a great weekend. It was a beautiful fall day in Virginia. We ventured out to the pumpkin patch near the house with cousin Veia and had a great time sliding down the slides and picking out our pumpkins. I knew I wanted to do something outdoorsy with the girls on Sunday but I couldn't decide between visiting an apple orchard, hiking the Shenandoah or checking out Frying Pan Park. Ultimately, I decided to pull out Ella's bike out while Eva was sleeping and to my delight she finally discovered the joys of riding a bike. She was on it all day, it was great. We decided to talk a walk in our own backyard. We have a great park system with wonderful trails. I'm so glad I decided to not get in my car. Ella got on her Skut and I put Eva in the backpack and we walked to an open field, I pulled chocolate chip cookies and that's when Ella asked me if I wanted to daydream with her. Which meant looking at the...
